Inexpensive Ways To Decorate a Bedroom

Just because you’re tight on money doesn’t mean you can’t re-decorate your bedroom. Sure, you probably can’t go replacing all of the furniture without coughing up some cash, but there are plenty of things an individual can do to completely change their bedroom’s look for free; here’s how it’s done:

Create New Curtains

Did you know that curtains can be made using just a regular sheet of fabric? If you have some leftover fabric laying around your house, try sewing a small rod-holder loop through the top of it. All this requires is flipping about 1 1/2 inches of fabric down on one end and stitching it together. Once you’re done, run it through the rod over the window and you have yourself a brand new curtain!

Bed Sheets and Comforter

Buying a new set of sheets and comforter for your bed can easily cost well over $100 bucks. However, chances are you have some other sheets stored away in your home. Go through your linen closet, or wherever you store sheets, and look for some other sheets that would match in your bedroom. If you can’t find any, call around to some of your family members and ask them if they have any they are willing to part with. You would probably be surprised at just how much unused items other family members have.

Rearrange Your Furniture

Rearranging your furniture is a simple and effective way to completely change the look and feel of your bedroom. Best of all, it’s not going to cost you a dime. First, start by moving your bed to a different area of your room. If it’s in the center of one wall, try moving it the opposite wall. After you’ve moved your bed, focus on the other furniture, such as dressers, chest of drawers, day beds, desks, chairs, etc. Small changes like this will make a world of difference in giving your bedroom new life.

Wall Calloges

I’m a huge fan of wall colleges not only because they’re free, but because they’re uniquely beautiful as well. Go through your photo album (I’m sure you have one somewhere) and find some of your favorite pictures. You can either create your own backboard to hang on the wall, or you can hang them using traditional picture frames. The choice is up to you.

Don’t be afraid of using multiple pictures in your wall collage, as more is usually better. With that said, you have to be careful not to over-do it either.
